The Position
We are looking to find a Sales Director to lead and enhance the company’s business across the US.
The business in the US is currently focused on several major commercial vehicle accounts, OEM hubs and Tier1s. We are seeking an individual contributor, a hunter by instinct and with a customer-facing experience in the commercial vehicle industry to unleash the potential and grow the revenue, opening doors to major OEM hubs and Tier1 suppliers.
Going forward, this role will be backed up by VP Global Sales, who is ready to coach and mentor the right person and grow them into an exceptional high-tech professional with in-depth knowledge of IoT and Software business in the industrial space.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a can-do attitude, having a deep understanding of the automotive industry, a proven track record of developing business opportunities with commercial vehicle companies driving sales growth and managing customer relationships, and with some innovative or technological component in the product they have been promoting.
The compensation will be competitive, and the success factor will be uncapped, the package will include options, 401K and health coverage. The position is remote with ~40% of travel.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development:
  • Identify and target potential customers within the current customers and the wider automotive industry
  • Develop and execute tactical plans to drive business growth and market penetration
  • Collaborate with the product development team to ensure that the AI technology aligns with customer challenges and market needs
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, technologies, and competitors to identify opportunities

Sales:
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline
  • Achieve and exceed revenue goals
  • Conduct product presentations and demonstrations to potential customers
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with clients
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports

Market Research and Analysis:
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive intelligence to refine sales and business development strategies
  • Develop a deep understanding of the US automotive commercial vehicle market and its key players


Qualifications
  • 7 plus years of experience in business development, sales, and account management in the commercial vehicle industry in any market with some innovative component
  • Knowledge and experience within the US automotive market, including key contacts and industry trends
  • Familiarity with AI technology and its applications in the automotive sector is a plus but not obligatory
  • Results-oriented and can-do with a track record of meeting and exceeding targets
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
  • Ability to effectively influence others who do not report directly
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field
  • Experience working with bluechip enterprises
  • Ability to travel about 40% of the time
